Title: How Do You Tell?
Author: Sw
Rating Mature-13
Discliamer: I don't own Roswell and am making not money off of this story.
Summary: AU: Max healed Liz but they only became friends. So when Tess came to Town Max tries to follow his destiny. Only he’s never fell in love with Tess.
Liz Parker takes a deep breath and tries to keep tears from falling down her cheeks. How could this have happened? Why she knew the How but Why did it have to happen to her? Everything was just starting to go back to normal.
She was just now able to look Tess in the eyes without feeling like she deserved the girl’s hatred. What she had taken for Tess was unforgivable. But that hadn’t stopped her for taken it in the first place. It wasn’t fair that the one moment she had finally let her guard down and did what her heart always wanted would now ruin so many lives.
How do you, tell all your friends that because of you and your actions there was a good chance they all might die. Tess wouldn’t forgive and she would leave and without her Liz knew they didn’t stand a chance against their enemies.
Liz knew she was mainly focusing on Tess and her reaction so she didn’t have to think about what Max’s would be. It would kill him when he learned he would blame himself because it never would have happened if it wasn’t for him.
The truth was no one but Liz Parker herself was to blame. She knew what she was doing and didn’t care. She could have stopped it at any second instead she could still remember pulling Max closer as his lips claimed hers.
She could remember the way he felt next to her. The way his eyes told her about his dreams of the future that all included her. Are the way it felt to wake up in Max’s arms only then to remember it could never be?
Tess Harding was Max’s future not her. Tess was the one Max was made for and she for him. Tess was the one Max’s people knew as his queen. But Tess wasn’t the one Max loved in that one night that she had spent in Max’s Evans arms Liz Parker knew he was madly in love with her.
It had broken her heart as well as his to send him away that next morning after they had lost their innocents to each other. The tears weren’t only running down his cheeks but her’s as well. Max had pleaded with her begging Liz to run away with him to start a new life together.
Both knew that wasn’t possible, Max had to lead his people to freedom and Liz wasn’t a part of that. Max Evans had a destiny that his love wasn’t part of no matter how much they wish she was.
Two months had past between that night and this one and the hurt of what followed never went away it only grew. They had agreed to not see each other alone to afraid that their lust for the other would drawn them back in. And only cause that much more pain when the time came for Max to return to his real home.
Liz had watch Max throw himself into a relationship with Tess. And Tess’ smiles about how all of a sudden Max wanted to be with her. How it was only a matter of time before they crossed the line from friends to lovers. Only Liz knew that wasn’t going to happen now as if it ever would have. Max had called her late one night about a month ago in tears.
Tess had wanted to take the next step as she had called it. Max had told Tess he wasn’t able to because his parents were expecting him home. But the truth was the night that Max had spent with Liz had given them a bond that was unbreakable. Tess would feel it if they got to close something Max hadn’t let happen. So Max wasn’t only staying away from her now he also kept a distance from Tess.
Liz knew one day it would come out what she and Max had done. But hopefully it wouldn’t have to for years and by then some how this bond with Max would have broken. Only now Liz knew that wasn’t going to happen.
“Liz are you alright?” a voice Liz knew well asked from behind her.
Turning around Liz saw the man she loved looking at her with worry on his face. What he was doing in her room when they were trying to stay apart didn’t even enter her mind to question.
